The original publication run was irregular. The first ten issues of were printed semi-annually from Spring 1909 to Autumn 1913 under various publishers including Simpkin, Marshall, and Wieland & Co. Crowley intended a Volume II , but it was famously never issued. The series continued sporadically with Volume III , Number 1, known as The Blue Equinox , published in 1919. Subsequent issues of Volume III followed in later decades, often published as individual book titles ( Eight Lectures on Yoga in 1939, The Book of Thoth in 1944), and later issues were compiled and published posthumously up until 1998. Despite its esoteric weight, The Equinox was also a literary review.
