This page contains download links for PuTTY release 0.81.
0.81, released on 2024-04-15, is not the latest release. See the Latest Release page for the most up-to-date release (currently 0.83).
Past releases of PuTTY are versions we thought were reasonably likely to work well, at the time they were released. However, later releases will almost always have fixed bugs and/or added new features. If you have a problem with this release, please try the latest release, to see if the problem has already been fixed.
You probably want one of these. They include versions of all the PuTTY utilities (except the new and slightly experimental Windows pterm).
(You probably want the 64-bit x86 version. The 32-bit version is only for backward compatibility with very old PCs / versions of Windows.)

In the ever-churning ecosystem of Pakistani social media, few things spread as quickly as a controversial video clip. Recently, the search term “Nazia Karachi WMV” has dominated platforms like Twitter (X), Facebook, and WhatsApp groups. The phrase refers to an unverified, private video allegedly involving a woman named Nazia from Karachi, formatted as an old-school .wmv (Windows Media Video) file. This incident has sparked a firestorm of discussion, raising urgent questions about privacy, digital vigilantism, and the ethics of viral sharing. : The video gained significant traction due to
However, the public's demand to "watch" these videos obscures a much more serious reality: these are not scandals; they are crimes. This article will not name specific victims or provide links to any content. Instead, it will explore the lifecycle of these digital leaks, the legal framework in Pakistan, and the devastating human cost.
The virality was not organic but fueled by curiosity and the illicit nature of the content. Algorithms designed to maximize engagement often prioritized the controversy surrounding the video, creating an echo chamber of shares and comments that further amplified its reach. The video was discussed and debated at length,
The leak of the MMS video sparked widespread outrage and condemnation, with many calling for action against those involved in the making and distribution of the video. The incident was widely reported in the Pakistani media, with many newspapers and television channels devoting extensive coverage to the scandal.
The incident also raised questions about the objectification of women in Pakistani society, and the ways in which women are often blamed and shamed for incidents such as this.
Particularly in South Asian digital spaces, viral leaks immediately spark intense cultural and moral scrutiny. Online commentators often split into polarizing factions. One side frequently engages in victim-blaming or moral policing, evaluating the alleged content through conservative societal lenses. Conversely, a growing counter-discourse focuses heavily on digital ethics, calling out the hypocrisy of the consumers and defending the individual's right to privacy. 3. The Counter-Campaign for Privacy
A smaller but growing faction of Pakistani Twitter users is fighting back. These are often lawyers, journalists, and feminists using hashtags like #BlockNaziaVideo and #DigitalRightsPK.
